Mark Katchen is the Managing Principal for The Phylmar Group, Inc. with expertise in industrial hygiene, toxicology, occupational health, risk communication and e-commerce. He received his B.A. in Psychobiology from UCLA, M.S. in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University, Northridge, and M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University. Mr. Katchen has more than 25 years of experience in occupational and environmental exposure assessment in such industries as petrochemical, agriculture, mining, utilities and automotive. Additionally, he is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a State of California Registered Environmental Assessor. Mr. Katchen is on the faculty of the University of California, Irvine and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Center for Health Promotion as well as serving on the CSUN Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Advisory Board. He is also the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s Ambassador to Israel serving as a liaison to environmental health and safety professionals in that country. Mr. Katchen is a frequent lecturer to business and academic groups on environmental risk assessment, management, and communication, and is the author of several published technical and business-related articles.

Elizabeth A. Treanor is the director of the Phylmar Regulatory Roundtable (PRR) which addresses OSH regulatory and legislative developments and shares best practices. She is also a Client Advisor with the Phylmar Group where she sources and manages environmental and occupational safety and health consulting projects worldwide and provides consultation on occupational safety and health compliance issues; additionally, Ms. Treanor directs the activities of the BioPharma EHS Forum and the Apparel and Textile International RSL Management Working Group (AFIRM). From 2001 until 2002, she was the Special Counsel on occupational safety and health matters for the law firm of Littler Mendelson. Previously, Ms. Treanor was the Director, Western Occupational Safety and Health Operations for ORC (Organization Resources Counselors), and managed the Western Occupational Safety and Health Group for 14 years. Prior to joining ORC in 1987, Elizabeth was a Senior Regulatory Analyst in the Health and Environmental Affairs Department of the American Petroleum Institute. She has earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree, cum laude, in Technology and Management from the University of Maryland, and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Patrick Neyts has held senior management positions within Environment, Health and Safety and Social Responsibility at Levi Strauss & Co, the first multinational to implement a code of conduct. Following a successful career at Levi Strauss & Co Patrick joined Timberland to work with the CEO on Labor and Human Rights through its various CSR programs. Before Levi Strauss & Co, Mr. Neyts was general manager / managing director of an Institute for Research, based in the Benelux, and started his career as new drug application project manager and head of public affairs and environment in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Neyts’ practical management experience provides a strong background in social responsibility strategy and implementation within the private and corporate sectors. In this capacity Patrick has effected significant pragmatic change within the value chains and its stakeholders on labor and human rights as well environment, health and safety conditions within factories and communities in over 35 countries. He is also an active member of several civil society organizations, has co chaired numerous multi stakeholder round tables and has served on many boards of Foundations, NGOs and multi stakeholder organizations such as the Ethical Trading Initiative. Mr. Neyts holds masters degrees in biochemical engineering and international law.

Dr. Schulman, Client Advisor to The Phylmar Group, Inc., is known for her deep scientific expertise coupled with extensive management experience. Her work in corporations, governments and non-profits, including Phytotech, Inc., The New York City Department of Environmental Protection, the National Parks Department and the government of Israel, has focused on bioremediation and the implementation of technologies. Dr. Schulman has also been involved in the research and promotion of health-focused foods, beverages and supplements for over 10 years. She has a broad base of expertise covering scientific, regulatory, marketing and educational areas, with a particular expertise in developing products based strong science and creating new health trends. She has worked with POM Wonderful, Wyeth (Solgar Vitamins), WellGen, Inc., and the American Botanical Council among others. Dr. Schulman has been highly successful at creating tight, cross-functional teams on both a global and local scale. She is also an effective and dedicated trainer and lecturer to corporate, academic and lay groups. She has wide field experience, having studied plants and ecosystems on land and underwater across the tropics, Israel and New England.
