The Phylmar Group, Inc.

The Phylmar Group, Inc. performed an indoor air quality evaluation for an automobile industry client, based in southern California, who was planning to move approximately 600 employees from its current location to a location within a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency designated Superfund site. The sampling plan was developed to address employee concerns regarding potential chemical exposure from Superfund site contaminants while working in the building and to address Proposition 65 risk issues. Sample results comparing outside chemical concentrations with inside building levels were presented during a meeting with employees. Technical information was presented in a manner the employees could readily understand. The employees’ concerns were addressed and the moved continued uneventfully. The client avoided having to break a multimillion-dollar lease and the potential litigation.
