   Search for other articles and case studies Establishing Acceptability Criteria for Indoor Air PollutantsThe Phylmar Group, Inc. worked with a school district's environmental safety committee to establish indoor air quality acceptability criteria for students, faculty, and staff in the district. While no formal indoor air quality regulations exist that take into consideration sensitive receptors such as children, the consultant was able to draw upon risk assessment data used in other situations (e.g., hazardous waste site community related risk assessments) as a basis for presenting various acceptability criteria. The environmental safety committee was able to make an informed decision regarding acceptability. The committe chose to establish a series of action levels. Exceedance of these action levels would trigger additional investigation and appropriate mitigation efforts. Search for other articles and case studies
